Jack’s Moves

6 Oct

As Mandy Moore so eloquently put it, “I’ve got a cruuuuush on you. I hope you feel the way that I do.” My additional lyrics for this specific scenario would be: “But you probably don’t feel the way that I do, since I was standing in the dark at your show and  your beautiful girlfriend at the merch table who you gave a sweet shout-out to filled the room with light even though she was in the dark, but I still got a crush on you. Leave London and move to SF out of the blue. You totally outshone Miike Snow with your onstage energy, voice and of course your moves…everything was on cue. I got a crush on you.”

Jack Penate put on one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. And he was the opening band. I have never seen so much onstage energy. His back-up band was awesome as well. This was the best musical pleasant surprise EVER. I especially liked his performance of the song “Lets All Die” (based on a funeral procession he witnessed in New Orleans). This London lad has style and moves for miles. He’s an A+++ in my book. Listen and see him if you can. They are still touring.

I gotta get sound on the back room PC. You make me want to hear what Jack P. sounds like (without booting up the laptop in your room). BTW- Your addition to the Mandy Moore lyrics—There was rhythm and poetry in that. You got some talent. Keep workin’ it.
