When I read this brief review today, I couldn’t agree more. I was beyond excited to see this movie at Sundance and I left very underwhelmed…and depressed and borderline pissed off. I too cannot get behind this movie. Who wants to watch an open-ended movie about the demise of a relationship with minimal explanation. “I want to leave it up to the viewer to decide and interpret it on his or her own,” said the Ryan Gosling wannabe director. I think that’s just a bullshit excuse for a lazy and irresponsible ending. After two painstakingly emotional hours, you owed us a little more in the end buddy.
