Day 6

1 Oct

Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever)

  1. My mom (a.k.a. Vintage Barbie) for being my biggest fan. For letting me dress myself since age 4. For telling me I could do anything I wanted to do because “well, someone’s gotta do it and that someone could be you” For reading to me all the time and taking me to the library every weekend. For trying to teach me how to fly a kite and getting shit on by a bird while doing so. For our weekend rituals. For loving me even though I was a little shit in high school. For being so damn hip. For EVERYTHING.
  2. My dad (a.k.a. Papa Roy or Hola) for wanting the best for me. For driving me to horseback riding lessons and making the stop at the 7-11 on the way almost every time because I would have to pee due to nerves. For driving back and getting me all 3 sauces for my chicken mcnuggets when they forgot. For being sensitive and generous and caring. For our movie-rituals. For reading two papers a day and knowing about pretty much everything that’s going on in the world even if he calls Rihanna “REENA.” For EVERYTHING.
  3. My friends. I feel so lucky to have the friends that I do and whenever I overhear some dumbass conversation, I think to myself, ‘god i’m lucky to have the friends that i do.’
  4. Oprah Winfrey- because I have taken away a lot from her work and because I think she’s made a lot of people’s lives better. Yes, I know I will get made fun of for this one.
  5. My parent’s best friends Veon and Andy because they’ve shown me that age doesn’t stop the cool. Stay young at heart and interested in what’s going on and even at 75, you can be the most charismatic person in the room.
